Game Development Methodology
Most of the product companies follow well defined Product Development Process (PDP) which embraces agile development methodology. The PDP unambiguously defines the process. So in all our outsourced product developments engagements we follow the defined PDP process of the customer. OPD engagements are predominantly offshore based and hence a few of the processes are customized to improve delivery efficiency.
Development Methodology
In most of the engagements, the Product backlog is available and release plans already exist. And so the requirements stage is reduced to requirement understanding and elaboration through Release Planning and Sprint Planning meetings.
Without diluting the Scrum principles, we have customized Scrum and have made it work for our customers and experienced productivity increase in the team.
All team members undergo a Scrum workshop by in-house Certified Scrum masters before engaging on the product development. We have standard tools and an in-house project management system named ‘Collaborate 2.0’ to support the product development.
Our customers have direct access to Collaborate 2.0 and have the daily status of the Sprint and the burntdown charts are visible in their dashboards. This creates a transparent project environment.
We had good interactions with the executives and the focus has been very good. Coming to the technical expertise of the resources as I said, we are primarily a Java J2EE shop and we’ve gotten good technical resources and the right kind of experience that we looked for and the leadership and management.
