Sierra Atlantic Grows IT Outsourcing Operations and Market Share in China Expansion is the Result of new Customers in China and the U.S.

Sierra Atlantic Inc., announced today their continued expansion in China, which builds on a strategic acquisition in late 2007, and is the result of increased customer demand for the company's IT and outsourced product development services . In the past 12 months, Sierra Atlantic has added nine new customers in China including; Alibaba, Digital China, Bank of East Asia, Guangzhou Municipal Local Taxation Bureau, and ACE Wireless Group, and doubled the size of their Guangzhou-based consulting organization.
"Sierra Atlantic has made strategic investment in expanding our global delivery model," said GK Murthy, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Solutions, Sierra Atlantic. "We are pleased with our expanded capabilities with acquisition of China based service capabilities, nearly 18 months back. The tough economy in US and Europe is forcing many companies to reduce the costs further and we started seeing several of our customers showing more interest in leveraging our presence in China. We are hoping to lock many more deals using our China based software development and IT services." Sierra Atlantic now employs 375 full-time staff in the third largest city in southern China, Guangzhou. The growth is the result of expanded offshore product development services in Chinese, North American and European markets resulting in several long term strategic partnerships as evidenced by the following customer testimonials. Sierra Atlantic has achieved the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMi), Level 3 certification for their China-based business.
"Sierra Atlantic's Dual Shore engagement model was a major factor in our outsourcing decision because it marries onshore accountability, ease of management, local communication and visibility with the lower costs of offshore software engineering," said Dave Schiff, Director of Outsourcing Crossbeam Systems Inc. "I don't think we would have been as successful with a pure offshore engagement model because we are now able to interface daily with U.S. engineers that are important members of the outsourcing team, and they themselves also interface daily with their colleagues in China, We're able to sync up periodically as needed, and Crossbeam has been able to efficiently manage engineering costs while focusing our engineer resources to support two product lines." Crossbeam Systems builds the world's highest performing security services switches for mission-critical security infrastructure. The company saw the opportunity to better utilize its engineering resource by outsourcing product development for the C-Series platforms so it could reallocate internal engineering resources to support development and maintenance of its high end X-Series platforms. With Sierra Atlantic's partnership, Crossbeam has successfully achieved this plan and is scheduling to add on more projects.
