Drag Race Game Development

Introduction:

Sierra Atlantic Software Services Ltd – a Hitachi Consulting Company, successfully developed a racing game with the title “Drag Race”. “Drag Race” is a game built on the Torque engine for the PC and showcases some of the capabilities of Torque engine.

The Product:

“Drag Race” is a technical demonstration of the Torque engine on the PC. The game belongs to the racing genre with focus on completing the game in the fastest time.

Project Planning:
Sierra Atlantic follows the best practices in software development. We use standard tools and an in-house implementation of the project management system “JIRA”, named ‘Collaborate 2.0’ to support the product development. Our customers have direct access to Collaborate 2.0 and have the daily status of the Sprint and the burnt down charts are visible in their dashboards. This creates a transparent project environment.

Highlights:

• Torque engine: The game showcases our capability to develop high end gaming content using the Torque engine.
• Car customization tool: We built a customization tool which allows the player to customize the look and feel of the car.
• Realistic Environment: Includes features like vehicle physics, friction, panoramic view which makes the game realistic.
• Leader Board: The top 10 high scores are displayed in a leader board.
