PPG industries works in the areas of coating and the specialty of optical materials but we also have business units in the areas of glass, fiber glass, chemicals and in general it’s a fairly diversified company with 13 or 14 different business units. We extended our contract recently because over the past 6 or 7 years that we have been working together, Sierra Atlantic has worked very well for us and delivered many projects to us so we felt confident that we had a good partner to work with and somebody that we wanted to continue our relationship with.

Choosing Sierra Atlantic over Tier 1:

Since the beginning we always had a two vendor strategy so we do like to work with two different vendors so in this case we are working with Sierra Atlantic and TCS. The reason for this is that we do like to share the portfolio and keep two vendors around to be able to agile in terms of how we source work and be able to source from one company to the other company and share our work around.

Experience with Sierra Atlantic:

The experience of working with Sierra Atlantic has been very good and you are a small company as you said but that really hasn’t hurt us from a PPG point of view because we are one of Sierra Atlantic’s larger clients and therefore I feel we do get the right attention from the management team and the organization and therefore we have been able to staff up for projects in a very appropriate way.

Technical and Managerial expertise:

From a technical point of view, Sierra Atlantic has a very core experience in Oracle and really that’s where our relationship started is providing work in the Oracle space. I do believe that Sierra Atlantic has a deeper understanding of that particular software but more recently we have also given them work in MS .net type of software area as well as cognos spaces and intelligence and they have been able to staff up and cover those particular technologies fairly easily and we are very impressed with being able to leverage them into these spaces as well. From a senior management point of view, I have been very impressed that since the very beginning of the relationship we really have been working with the Sierra Atlantic management team. I have been coming over here for few times and we are getting the right attention, there is continuity and I believe that PPG is a very valuable client for Sierra Atlantic.

Key success area with PPG:

Again I would like to point out Oracle as the key success area for Sierra Atlantic in the way that they perform work for us as we have done a number of new implementations and a number of upgrades of that particular software and I think that probably the leading strength that Sierra Atlantic has and can exploit with other customers; lead with Oracle and as in the case of PPG it give you then the opportunity to branch out into other technologies such as Microsoft or cognos.

What brings PPG to visit development centers regularly:

I think it is important to come out to the facility and really meet the management team onsite and also to meet with the team which is onsite. I think it is meaningful for the people to get those types of visits; in this particular case for example we have finished a fairly large project and one reason for me coming out is really to sit with team and recognize them for their hard work and for their success in completing the project for us.

Recommending Sierra Atlantic:

I certainly can recommend Sierra Atlantic for other large companies. The value that Sierra Atlantic that brought for PPG is really that we have been able to run projects, execute projects that probably otherwise we may not have be able to do so because maybe the cost would have been too high, we wouldn’t have the expertise or we wouldn’t have been able to staff up and get the right people or the right amount of people into our account to run those projects so I think this is the key value equation that Sierra Atlantic brings for PPG.
